THE WORKSHIP
METHODIST CHURCH

Mini-FAQ
After all, it's time we got to work ...

1
What does the WORKship Methodist Church believe?

We believe that we are here to help. Because we are here to help everyone -- regardless of their faith -- our theology is based on the deepest respect for all faith traditions. Here is just one example:

Members of the WORKship Methodist Church are taught how to comfort those who are sick and/or dying. That person may be Protestant, Catholic, Evangelical, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic or any other faith so our training and theology requires us to assist them according to their faith tradition. We believe that God holds all of us in His heart and simply wishes us to share His love with others. That's why the most respected members of all faiths (like Hillel, Ghandi, Mother Teresa, Schweitzer, Kagawa, etc.) are known not just for what they believed, but for how their personal beliefs inspired them to help others.

2
Why does the WORKship Methodist Church worship at a "Chelter" for homeless children and their mothers?

There are many reasons we worship at a shelter. Here are just three:

First, we like it there. It is a wonderful experience to worship among friends.

Second, the world has little need for mostly unused church buildings and an overwhelming need for more shelters and public kitchens.

And third, the WORKship Methodist Church takes no money. None. Everyone associated with the WORKship Methodist Church is a volunteer. When we feed the poor, our families bring the food. When we repair a home, our families bring the supplies. We don't ask for donations and we do not accept them. Our church is the least among churches in wealth and among the first among churches in service.

3
As a first-time visitor, what can I expect to gain by visiting the WORKship Methodist Church?

For people who need to ask this question, the answer is "nothing". The WORKship Methodist Church has no parking spaces reserved for first-time visitors, no food court offering free meals to first-time visitors, no "Welcome Tent", no parking shuttle, no coffee shop, no video room, and -- heavens -- no climbing wall.

What The WORKship Methodist Church has is a remarkable group of families and individuals who joyfully believe that we are here to help. We are on fire. Come watch us burn.
